SUMMARY:Lossie Session - Concert
DESCRIPTION:We are super excited to be putting on the first Lossie Session in the wonderful Lossiemouth Town Hall as a fundraiser for Brother Sea who are representing Scotland at two major European Festivals this Spring and Summer. All profits from ticket sales and the bar will go towards their travel expenses. \nBrother Sea will be sharing the stage with two other talented Scottish artists\, Calum Ingram and local boy William Freeman… \nBROTHER SEA: \nBrother Sea’s music is that of departure into a wild adventure\, sweeping you away with a sense of a new beginning. With hypnotic vocals accompanied by a playful twist on classic folk instruments they create awe and intrigue with songs that are like campfire stories exploring heritage and folklore as they gently flicker through captivating soundscapes. \nCALUM INGRAM: \nCalum has played the cello from age nine and never looked back. He’s developed a unique approach to the cello inter-twin-ing his strings. \nIn 2013 Calum wrote and performed music for the off-Broadway Show Devision Avenue and won the award for Best Sound Design as part of The Midtown International Theatre Festival\, New York City. Later that year\, he released his debut album “Making It Possible.” \nIn 2015\, he headlined the acoustic main stage at The Wicker Man Festival in Scotland\, followed by the release of his “Turn Around” live EP. Shortly after his return\, he signed a publishing deal with 23rd Precinct/Nottinghill Music. \nIn 2017\, Calum was featured in the Sky Arts TV series\, Tony Visconti’s “Unsigned Heroes” which saw him performing a duet with Stewart Copeland (The Police) as part of Visconti’s 50 Years in Music celebratory concert. \nCalum’s debut album was nominated for Best Album and for the Kevin Thorpe Award at the British Blues Awards in 2014. \nWILLIAM FREEMAN: \nHailing from Lossiemouth and now living in Glasgow\, William Freeman’s soft guitar melodies mixed with meaningful lyrics provide easy listening songs that fit comfortably in the folk/acoustic genre.

SUMMARY:Bushcraft Basics - Logie Steading
DESCRIPTION:Learn the basics of bushcraft and have fun in nature. The perfect outdoor experience for the whole family! \nThere’ll be something for everyone whether old or young. This is a great activity to do as a family too as there will be plenty of teamwork needed! \nAlthough open to everyone\, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. \nWhat do I need? \n1. sensible footware (paths can be slippy) \n2. Waterbottle and snack \n3. Waterproofs (if needed) \n4. Binoculars and/or camera \n  \nWhat’s the plan? \nThe sessions will meet at Logie Steading by the main entrance before heading out into the beautiful estate grounds to explore the woodlands. The estate is diverse and wonderfully remote and we will be looking at a number of different habitats and locations. Although there will be a bit of foraging it’s a good idea to bring a snack and don’t forget to check the weather! \nLogie Steading has some wonderful shops and a cafe and so we will aim to finish back at the main buildings by around 12:30- giving you time to explore before lunch. \nWe look forward to seeing you there! \nWill’s background is as an animal biologist. He now works as a professional wildlife photographer and filmmaker around Scotland. His real passion\, however\, is teaching\, so he spends much of his time sharing the wonders of nature with kids and adults all over the country. His expertise in tracking and bushcraft have helped him get some beautiful images and video which have been published internationally. If you want to ask some photography questions while on this course then he will be happy to help.
